Dear Fellow BJ ites,
It is my great privilege to welcome you, on behalf of our executive committee, board of trustees, members at large and the entire Alumni Association, to a new chapter for our community.
It’s truly an honor. I want to start by thanking my predecessor, Dr Maltiben Mehta, for her dedication and leadership that brought us to this point as well as thanking each one of you for the trust you’ve placed in me.
I am also reminded of the shared bond that unites each one of us- The love of our alma mater BJ Medical College and Civil hospital Ahmedabad.
Our Vision
As we look to the year ahead, our vision rests on four pillars:
1. Reconnection — Building meaningful ways for alumni across generations to find one another again, through reunions and a forge stronger digital presence.
2. Mentorship — support the academic and professional aspirations of BJMC graduates through networking, mentorship, and continuing medical education (CME).
3. Giving Back —donating to our various projects – Human milk bank, the newly initiated sleep lab initiative, contributing to white coat ceremony and donating apron, stethoscope, dissection kit to our students.
4. Advancing Our Institution’s Legacy —By contributing meaningfully to medical education and healthcare initiatives in India through collaborative efforts and charitable giving.
All of these activities happen because of all of you. I’m asking you to stay engaged, reaching out and getting involved. Let’s make the next chapter of this alumni association as meaningful as the years that brought us here.
I am deeply honored to serve as your President, and I look forward to building this vision together — alumnus by alumnus, generation by generation.
